This in-person, one-day workshop will empower nonprofit executive directors and senior managers to build skills and gain confidence in leading your organization’s path toward financial health and sustainability. The program will encompass the fundamentals of financial strategy, a useful framework for nonprofit business models, as well as principles of financial leadership with your key stakeholders. This will be a dynamic, interactive program with discussion and hands-on group exercises.

This in-person workshop content includes: 

  • Financial Strategy Essentials (Strategic Thinking, Key Metrics, Telling a Story with Numbers)
  • Understanding the Nonprofit Business Model (Sources of Financial Stress, Elements of a Business Model, Operational Core, Value Propositions) 
  • Financial Leadership (Storytelling as a Leadership Technique, Goal Setting, Building Alignment, Short- and Long-Term Planning)

Price (includes workbook and lunch):

  • $45.00 per person for Natrona County Nonprofits
  • $75.00 per person for WNN members outside of Natrona County (not located in Natrona County and not a WNN member, join today)

Presenter:

Scott Schaffer, Principal of Public Interest Management Group, is a nonprofit sector thought leader on financial health and sustainability. As past CEO of organizations in the health, housing and environmental fields, he’s led financial turnarounds and built resilient organizations. As a management consultant, he’s helped over 100 nonprofits chart courses toward financial health. Scott has a background in finance, economics, and behavioral science, and is a frequent presenter on workshops about strategic financial management. 

This training is made possible through a Natrona Collective Health Trust grant.
