What are the charitable solicitation registration requirements and what does it take to be compliant? If your nonprofit is raising funds, you may be required to register with state charity officials in certain states. Forty-one states require charitable solicitation registration, and many other states require the use of specific disclosure language in nonprofit solicitations. If you’re fundraising online or through email lists, you may need to meet requirements in many or all of those states.
