Boardroom Basics: What Every Nonprofit Board Member Should Know (16 Apr 2026)

As an adapted version of the organization’s in-person Board Fundamentals Workshop, the Wyoming Nonprofit Network is excited to again be offering Boardroom Basics: What Every Nonprofit Board Member Should Know. This two-hour online workshop will discuss the primary functions of the board of directors, including responsibilities and legal obligations. In addition to the information delivered online, attendees will receive a 15-page digital handout with workshop content and links to relevant resources. Recognizing the impact of strengthened governance within the nonprofit sector, this learning opportunity utilizes an organizational registration, meaning a single registration provides access to a Zoom link that can be shared with all board members and staff for no additional charge.

To support the onboarding of new board members and provide continued education for existing board members throughout the year, Boardroom Basics will be offered bimonthly in 2026.

Offered Dates:

The two-hour online workshop will be offered every other month in 2026. The same content will be shared each month, with workshop attendees able to attend the session that best fits their schedule.

Registration Information:

The registration cost is $100 per WNN member organization and $150 per non-member organization.

One registration covers your entire organization and includes access to all 2026 Boardroom Basics workshops. The same Zoom link will be used for every session, and registered organizations may share the link with staff or board members at no additional cost. Representatives from registered organizations are welcome to attend any or all sessions offered throughout the year.

The Wyoming Nonprofit Network is excited to announce that the 2026 Wyoming Nonprofit Conference will be held May 19 – 21 at the Ramkota Hotel and Conference Center in Casper, Wyoming. Recognizing the collective power of nonprofit professionals and advocates, this year’s conference theme is Louder Together: Strengthening the Voice and Impact of Wyoming Nonprofits.

About the Conference Theme:

In every community across the state, the work of the nonprofit sector is often done quietly by committed professionals, volunteers, and supporters. Alongside the Wyoming Nonprofit Network, it is time to raise the volume on the sector's impact and the critical role nonprofit organizations have in improving the lives of all Wyomingites. Louder Together: Strengthening the Voice and Impact of Wyoming Nonprofits is a conference for those ready to learn, connect, and speak together.

WyoGives, an initiative of the Wyoming Nonprofit Network, brings the state together as one community to raise funds and awareness for Wyoming’s nonprofits. Through WyoGives.org, donors can easily discover and support organizations across the state on one trusted, user-friendly platform.

This year’s WyoGives theme is the Power of One, highlighting how each individual gift contributes to a broader, collective impact across Wyoming.

For nonprofits, WyoGives offers an opportunity to increase visibility, engage supporters, and strengthen fundraising efforts as part of a statewide day of giving. For donors, it’s a simple way to support the causes and communities they care about most.
