Enhance your nonprofit's effectiveness by evaluating and refining your volunteer recruitment strategies.

Each month, the Wyoming Nonprofit Network highlights a specific topic impacting the nonprofit sector in the What We Are Learning email series. In March 2025, WNN will discuss how nonprofit organizations can recruit volunteers to move their missions forward.

Start Thinking About Volunteer Recruitment

Developing a committed volunteer base can significantly impact a nonprofit organization’s capacity. Consider the pre-learning questions below related to your organization’s approach to volunteer recruitment:

1. Does the organization have clearly defined volunteer needs and roles?

2. Recognizing volunteer needs can change, how often does the organization review its needs and adjust its recruitment strategy accordingly?

3. Who is involved in volunteer recruitment? If staff, board members, and other volunteers are involved, do they have the necessary information and resources to engage potential volunteers?
